The Harm From Diesel Exhaust
Recently the New York Legislature passed a bill providing death benefits for cancers caused by diesel exhaust exposure. The bill’s namesake, Anthony Nigro, was a mechanic who died of cancer in 2012 because of his exposure to harmful bus diesel exhaust. Only recently, however, scientific proof has emerged showing that diesel exhaust is a Class 1 carcinogen, or a cancer-causing substance.
Wisconsin has not passed such a bill, nor is there any presumption that a cancer (other than for firefighters) is caused by a specific substance. However, if you have a cancer caused by exposure to diesel exhaust, contact Domer Law immediately.
